Svenska Lektion - Swedish Lessons

On Monday the 17th of September, our Language Course in Kalmar started. I join the lessons together with Eloise, Michaël (both from France), Vilmos (from Hungary) and Jose (from Spain - hard to guess, hein?). Sice this Wednesday, Hélène is there as well of course.

On the first day our teacher Eva Narde (we just call her Eva) proudly showed us around: "Here you see the coffee machine. It costs 5 kronar. Do you wanna try it? You? Maybe you? What about you?" and "This is the emergency exit. But they are building on it at the moment, so you can't use it." or "And this is our toilet..." 5 minutes later, a man came in and told us the same again, but we could convince him, that he doesn't need to show us around...

Then we started with the first things like "My name is..." on swedish.

Eva is very nice, but here voice is...aaargh! I get headache! And she likes to use the pen which is making this terrible noise like "iiihtsch", then I look at her with my painful face and she looks embarrased and excuses thatfor. However this happens almost every lesson.

And for my taste, we are not working fast enough, but we will see. It's just a pity, that the others get 4 lessons per week (one lesson takes 3 hours) and we just get 2 (with 1,5 h), but this is due to organisatorical (do you say so? I have no dictionary here) problems which is not their fault.

My french flatmate: Hélène Camilleri

On Tuedsay night (the 19th of September) my flatmate Hélène arrived! She is originally from (south)east France, but worked in Paris as l'infimière (nurse) for elder people. Surprising was, that she's got maltese roots! Malta, some hard memories are coming alive...=)

Hélène got 23 on September the 27th, which we "celebrated" with an early breakfast at 7 o'clock, because she had to start working next day. (She works at Bryggaren, a daycare for elder people in Kalmar)

I could check her taste of music on her laptop: not bad! Quite similar to mine. She has been to 2 Rammstein concerts by the way. Somehow her deep, nasty laugh fits to that, but to me it's just sympathic.

Ah, and she cooks very well! We already had Crêpes, a lot of pasta and yesterday våfflar.

It's just bad that she has to work early in the morning and goes by bus for one hour to Kalmar. She comes back home at 5, me at 9.30. So we don't have so much time together. We can just eat and watch TV tohether in the evenings, but that's very funny. We watch shows we would never switch on in our homecountries (like "Idol" or "America's got Talent") and make fun of them. Fortunately, there are some good series as well (Scrubs, Dr. House, ...)
